My Top Picks of 2015

How was your 2015?  Mine was basically a massive pile of shit.  I'm happy to see the end of it.  It sounds silly, but part of the shitiness was how little swatching I got to do.  This was probably my best collecting year since my first one...maybe even better than that one.  I bought and wore Clarins 230 this year.  Did you see it on here?  Nope.  Same for OPI DS Glamour.  Both were applied in a hurry and weren't camera-worthy by the time I had a quiet moment at home.  Beyond frustrating.  As far as new shades go, I bought plenty of them too, but had the same stumbling blocks.  This year's Top Picks post pulls from both blogs and is only about half the size of my previous two.  That's just the kind of year it's been.  Enough kvetching, let's look back at the bright spots...

China Glaze The Great Outdoors - My Picks

 purchased by me

Sorry to vanish again.  I was in a car accident last week.  I'm ok, but the car is probably kaput.  This was my third accident in eight years, and I didn't cause any of them.  I was stopped at a red light this time and wasn't even sure what had happened at first.

The way things are going lately, this might be my last post before xmas, so...here are some swatches from around Halloween!

The Lost Swatches - Part 3

 purchased by me

Unintentional blogging break!  Oops!  I haven't posted in three weeks!  Not dead just...not here.  What happened?  A bunch of things.  I had a cold and other health things that wiped me out for a little while.  My computer's still broken, so all of my photo editing and post formatting has to be done at work.  They're renovating our office, so it's been kinda disastery.  Then there was Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend.  Add to all of that my ongoing little experiment in using gel base coat under conventional polish.  I've had a little trouble and one outright hilarious failure (you'll see), so the little time and energy that I've had for swatching went to learning how not to suck at using gel.  So yeah, three weeks and nothing to really show for it yet.  You know what that means.  It's time to dig into my backlog of unpublished swatches from over the spring/summer.

Charmed, Again

 purchased by me

They're at it again!  Sinful Colors has reformulated yet another core shade.  Over the past couple of years, they've changed Dream On, Let's Meet, Unicorn, Daredevil, Charmed...and now Charmed again!  I did a comparison last time, so I figured I might as well keep up-to-date and try out the latest version.

Charmed "2015" has silver and pastel multi microglitter, plus a hint of icy pearl in a faintly lilac-tinted base.

Sunday Shopper - 11/8 through 11/14

New polish and makeup sightings really help me deal with the onslaught of xmas stuff in stores the day after Halloween.  I don't have a ton of stuff to show you this week, but there are a few things.  Sales first, of course...

The HOT Sales:

CVS - 40% off Milani.
Rite Aid - BOGO50% on Jesse's Girl, Julie G, Bonita, etc. 300 Plenti Points for $8 Wet n Wild purchase.
Walgreens - Nothing major.

Sinful Colors UPC List

It's been mentioned.  It's been linked to.  Now here it is, a big ol' list of Sinful Colors UPC's and Walgreens stock numbers.  With this list, you can have a sales associate help you find a shade at another Walgreens.

This list will probably be an eternal work-in-progress.  So far I mostly have this year's LE's and a handful of SinfulShines.  Click the tabs at the bottom of the sheet to switch pages.

Funky Fingers R U Afraid Of The Dark?

 purchased by me

Happy Halloween!  It is still technically Halloween here.  I've got one last October post to sneak in under the wire.  Five Below has a few Funky Fingers glow/glitter polishes out right now.  I bought three, but only wound up swatching one.  Here's where I admit that I mostly bought the others because of the pricing.  They're 2/$5 instead of the regular 3/$5, but that's still a great deal...especially once you see this...

R U Afraid Of The Dark has a dusty blue base, matte black and green glitter in various sizes, and a green glow.

Sinful Colors You Glow Girl - My Picks

 purchased by me

At last!  The collection I almost gave up on finding!  If not for Jennifer (macleod07fj on Instagram), I'd have missed it completely.  She saw me gripe about not being able to find the full version of this collection and gave me an amazing tip.  Walgreens sales associates can look items up by UPC!  She sent me the UPC's for the shades I couldn't find, and some very patient Walgreens staff helped me figure out which stores got this collection.  I'm passing it on in the form of a huge UPC list.  It's still a work in progress, but it's fairly complete and maybe it'll help you find this collection.  Trust me, you'll want to!

Witchy Webs

The Halloween spirit has finally hit me!  I think Sinful Colors is the reason.  Finally finding the You Glow Girl endcap and getting the Walgreens exclusive shades inspired me.  High Spirits topped with Devil's Stare was just screaming out for some stamping.  I loved the result so much that I made it my NOTD.

Wet n Wild Embellish Minted

 purchased by me

Two greens in a row from Wet n Wild!  Awesome!  The world needs more green polish.  I loved I Moss Have It! so much that I didn't hesitate in picking Embellish Minted up the moment I found the Walgreens exclusive Beautifully Wicked collection.  It's the only one I wound up buying, though they're $1 off this week, so I'll probably take another look.  I wish that add was more specific, because I have an eye on at least one of those shadow palettes.  I have a serious Wet n Wild palette problem.  Anyway...the polish...

Embellish Minted is metallic green.

Sunday Shopper - 10/18 through 10/24

There's nothing quite like making one last stop on a long shopping trip and stopping dead in your tracks because you see something you hadn't even seen online first.  I had one of those moments yesterday.  Sales first though...

The HOT Sales:

CVS - Nothing amazing, but plenty of ExtraBucks deals, plus BOGO on MUA.
Rite Aid - 40% off Wet n Wild, L'Oreal, and Almay.
Walgreens - A bunch of BOGO50% deals.

The Halloween That Might Have Been

 purchased by me

October is shaping up to be another of those months in one of those years.  I was holding this post for the end of the month, but I don't have anything else to post right now.  My computer is overheating in a way that Beard isn't sure he can fix easily.  That throws a major wrench into my blogging.  Aside from uploading photos from my camera, I also sit at my computer desk when I swatch.  On top of that, the more often I work out, the more my sleep schedule is shifting.  Sleeping through most of the day is a problem when you swatch with partly natural light. I'm considering switching to fully artificial light and swatching in my bedroom, especially if I'll be computerless for a while.  Ugh.

It's fitting that today's post starts with another setback.  Reshaping my nails for Halloween had become a bit of a tradition for me.  This year, since I'm all almonds all the time now, I was gonna attempt coffin nails.  After breaking a nail in late August, I gave up on that idea.  Mostly.  Today I'm gonna show you my very brief stint (about 90 minutes) with coffin nails, along with another "magical" Dance Legend polish.  Mostly the polish.

Sunday Shopper - 10/11 through 10/17

Two weeks in a row!  This is the best time of the year for drugstore makeup fans, isn't it?  Three "seasons" converge in October.  Fall is going strong, Halloween is EVERYWHERE, and xmas is sneaking in.  This shopper isn't as big as last week's but I did find some interesting stuff in my travels.  I went beyond my usual drugstore haunts this time.  I almost entirely struck out as far as last week's Sinful Colors sale at Walgreens went, but there's a BOGO free at Rite Aid this week!  Awesome!  This is a strong week for sales all around...

The HOT Sales:

CVS - ExtraBucks deals on Sally Hansen, Revlon, CoverGirl, Maybelline, and L'Oreal. BOGO50% on Milani and NYX.

Rite Aid - 40% off Revlon and Physicians Formula, BOGO50% off Halloween cosmetics, BOGO50% on Jessie's Girl/Julie G/Bonita, BOGOFree on Sinful Colors.

Walgreens - BOGO50% on Maybelline, L'Oreal, and Revlon.

New Stuff:

Funky Fingers Star Wars (LE)

Shade names:
Use The Force * Oh Be One
Frozen And Carbonite * It's A Trap

I went into Five Below on a whim and found four new Funky Fingers Star Wars polishes! They're more exciting than CoverGirl's Star Wars yawnfest, that's for sure.  I wound up getting Frozen And Carbonite (and?) and It's A Trap.  You'll see them on here at some point.  I almost went with Use The Force too, but I decided against bar glitter.  I have no idea what this collection is actually called because the store didn't have signage for it and it's not on the Five Below site yet.

Bow Good God (...y'all)

 purchased by me

Computer problems, sleep issues, and some of the good kind of busy have all kept me from doing anything nail-related this week.  I'm gonna throw something gorgeous at you and hope next week is less stupid.

Bow Good God is a purple-to-green multichrome in a blue jelly base and scattered holo.

Bride Of Sinful Colors Sale Spam

These sales are starting to happen so often that I'm running out of titles!  This is three in the past 10-ish weeks now, I think.  How awesome is that?  This current sale runs through 10/10/15 and doesn't include SinfulShine, which is coming back at its original $2.99.  There are a bunch of fall and Halloween collections out now, so this is good timing.

Sunday Shopper - 10/4 through 10/10

There was enough new stuff in my local drugstores for me to post one of these last week, but I had to go and turn 33.  I was off celebrating.  Since then I've found SO MUCH STUFF!!  This post is going up late so it can include a bunch of fresh finds from this morning.  First though...the weekly sales...and -that- sale is back already!  I'll have update spam up tomorrow.  Here's the previous one and my Oh Snap! post.  If the weather and life let me, I'll have a bunch to add by the end of the week.  Anyway....the Shopper...

Sinful Colors Oh Snap! - My Picks

 purchased by me

As great as the back to school Sinful Colors collections were, I was really happy to see one that felt a little more seasonal.  The color scheme of the Oh Snap! collection is still very feminine, but a bit less girly.  I'm obviously happy about that too.  Plus there's a killer blurple, two crellies, and other things to be happy about.  I lucked into (barely) finding the collection during the last Walgreens sale and I bought six of the seven shades.  No resisting, at all.  I mean....lookit...

OPI Venice - My Picks

 purchased by me

First full day of fall!  Hooray!  I'm endlessly ready for cooler weather, apple or pumpkin EVERYTHING, and everything else that fall brings.  OPI's new(-ish) Venice collection isn't the most traditional assortment of colors ever, but there are two completely perfect autumnal shades and I had to have them!

Wet n Wild I Moss Have It

 purchased by me

Hard to believe, but this is the first ever Wet n Wild product on this blog!  The shade name is too perfect.  I knew I needed it the moment I saw G's post on Nouveau Cheap.  The Here's To The Wild Ones  collection finally started showing up in my area last week.  I wound up with one polish, two lipsticks, and two shadow palettes.  The other polish shades look nice, but they remind me of...something.  Maybe their Halloween '12 Pick Your Poison collection?  [Oh man...super old swatches...]  Maybe not.  I might go back for a couple more, but there were no two ways about this one.

I Moss Have It is a swampy green with gold shimmer and a scattering of gold flecks.

Sunday Shopper - 9/20 through 9/26

Feels like I haven't done one of these in forever...because I kinda haven't.  There's an awkward catch-22 in my shopping life lately.  I've started using the fitness center at work after my shift ends.  This means I'm out and about when the stores are actually open, but because I prefer to shower at home, I've been shopping in my workout clothes...with my phone strapped to my arm.  Makes it completely impossible to take photos.  I did a lot of "oh, I'll take a photo later" for stuff I haven't seen when again when my phone's been handy.  If I'd spotted anything really exciting, I'd have wrestled it out of the holder, so it's not like I'm mad at myself.  This post is big enough anyway, because there's a shit ton of Halloween stuff in it.  "Regular" stuff first....

The HOT Sales:

CVS - Big week for ExtraBucks on Sally HansenL'OrealCoverGirl, and Maybelline.
Rite Aid - 40% off Wet n Wild (Fantasy Makers probably not included.)
Walgreens - BOGO50 on Wet n Wild (Fantasy Makers probably not included.)

Sally Hansen Fall '15 Runway Collection (LE) combo shelf display

If you're still looking for the two new Runway Collections, keep your eyes peeled for this combo display too.  It turned up at one of the CVS's in my area, still the only one that has it, so don't worry if you haven't found it yet.  I've posted about Beige Glass and Gold Glass already and I picked up a few more now that I could finally earn ExtraBucks for them.  There's another deal on this week too!

Orly Infamous - My Picks

 purchased by me

Usually I'm one of the people grouching about how xmas stuff shows up in stores earlier and earlier...unless it's polish.  When I found Orly's Infamous collection at a local nail supply a few weeks ago, I wasn't going to gripe.  Sally Beauty and other stores probably won't have these until late next month or early November, but here's an early look at the two I bought.

Sally Hansen Beige Glass and Gold Glass

 purchased by me

The latest Sally Hansen Runway Collection is an even bigger temptation for me than usual.  I always get at least a couple, but this time...well...I've bought four so far and I know I'll be going back for more.  Instead of trying to gather everything up into one big post, I'll be doing two or three at a time.  I'm kicking things off with the two that caught my eye first.  They're...something.  Earthtone jellies are unusual, and now I know why.

Orly Turn It Up

 purchased by me

What happened to seasonal colors?  Orly's up there with Sinful Colors and OPI breaking away from the usual fall earth tones and smokey shades.  Their new In The Mix collection has five bold creams and a glitter topper that looks like confetti.  When I first saw promo shots for it, I wrinkled my nose a little.  Then I saw it at the nail supply shop and felt oddly drawn to that frenzied glitter.  Sometimes I think I buy stuff as a kind of dare to myself.  Whatever my motivation was, I passed on the creams and went with just the glitter.

Turn It Up has chunky multicolored and white matte glitter in a clear base.

L.A. Colors Tempt

 purchased by me

"Gel" is a massive buzzword in polish and it only seems to be getting bigger and more vague.  It's caused a ton of confusion because now there are three types of polish using the same word.  Before we get into this review, I'm gonna take a moment to clear things up.  The differences boil down to how they cure.  Lamp-cured gels require either UV or LED lamps to harden.  They come in opaque bottles and are tough to remove.  No lamp gels are part of a system of polish, topcoat, and sometimes basecoat.  Some won't cure unless the topcoat is used, and the topcoat itself comes in a tinted or wrapped glass bottle because it has some UV-reactive ingredients.  They're sorta a hybrid of gel and conventional polish, curing partly with air and partly with light.  Then there's gel-like polish.  It's conventional polish, but it does tend to be a bit shinier and "plumper" than most.  Like SinfulShine*, L.A. Colors Color Craze Gel is gel-like.  It's "just regular polish", but all squishy and shiny.  I can get behind squishy and shiny and I'm always a sucker for a dark blue crelly, so when I found Tempt in a display at Big Lots, I grabbed it.

Tempt is a a royal blue crelly.

The 99¢ Sinful Colors Sale Rides Again

Sinful Colors is 99¢ at Walgreens now through 9/5.  This might be a record.  The last Walgreens 99¢ Sinful Colors sale ended on on the 8th.  That's kinda two in the same month.  I'm starting to come out of my long semi-hiatus and I got a bunch of swatching done, but none of it was Sinful Colors.  That means this spam is actually smaller than the last one and there's nothing new in it.  Yay, right?  Yay for the sale though...and maybe I'll get Rebel Rose and a few others swatched this week to add to this post.  We'll see.  I still haven't found the big display, so that's another maybe for now.  I did find the "Walgreens exclusive" shades at Target of all places.  Now the Halloween collection has started turning up there too.  I haven't seen it myself yet.  Maybe I'll really luck out and find it at Walgreens during this sale.  Maybe. Maybe.  Enough maybes.  I'll see you under the collage.

It Had To Happen Eventually...

The Lost Swatches - Part 2

 purchased by me

I'm gonna be un-fun for a moment here and talk about my depression again.  This time it might be good news.  Dunno if it's a recent change or I'd just never noticed it before, but there's a caution on the asthma medicine I was taking.  It may cause or worsen mental health problems.  Holy shit, right?  My doctor confirmed that the timing seemed suspicious, and she took me off the medicine.  It's been a week now, so I'm not really sure if I just happen to feel better this week or if it was a side-effect.  We'll see.  If it wasn't the montelukast, I'll probably be going to a shrink soon.  I need to be a person again.  I've been doing relatively well lately.  I'm eating well (lost about 10 pounds) and I even did some cleaning, both things that I struggle to do when I'm depressed.  Barely felt any anxiety either, even when it would be sorta justified.  It's been nice.  Really hoping it lasts.  If it does, I'll probably start blogging more often...once the house is un-wrecked.  I miss it, but I'd been too down and now I have other things I know I should be doing while I have the momentum.  It'd be nice to do 4 days a week instead of my recent 1-2.  Again, we'll see.

Anyway...today's post...  I've got some more leftover stuff from my spring allergy/depression haze.  Here are The Lost Swatches, part 2...

Sinful Colors Chalk Board Diaries - My Picks

 purchased by me

Sometimes it seems like polish brands are throwing all of the traditional color rules out the window.  It means more "ugly" colors than ever before, but it also means some headscratching over seasonal color choices.  Today I've got four from an overwhelmingly pastel fall collection as an example.

Sinful Colors All Nighter - My Picks

 purchased by me

They might be the only mainstream polish brand to do it, but you can count on Sinful Colors for a Back To School collection most years.  This time around the big theme is Class Act, and there are three sub-themes.  Of the three, All Nighter is easily the girliest.  The palette is soft blues and purples, with a pop of pink and berry and a touch of silver.  You can probably guess that I don't have most of the repromotes in this collection.  I almost passed the display over completely when I saw it in Wegmans, but I was intrigued by whatever "3D Glitter" might be.  I also noticed they've changed Daredevil yet again, so I picked that up too.  Wegmans had three shelf displays for the different sub-themes, but I'm guessing that Walgreens will probably have a big endcap.  I'm hoping to find it this week during the 99¢ sale because there are some exclusive shades.  Those will probably get their own post separate from the individual posts like this, but for now, let's look at two new shades, a reformulation, and a rerun...

99¢ Sinful Colors Time AGAIN!!

Here we are again already!  Sinful Colors is 99¢ at Walgreens now through 8/8, so it's time to stock up!  As always, I've got spaaaaaaaam to help out when you hit the sale.  I've thrown some new swatches in since the last sale, and I should have some new collection posts up this week.  The Class Act back to school collections are starting to show up in stores, and I've tossed a couple from All Nighter into the mix here.

Fresh Paint Glass Slipper

 purchased by me

A few times a year I'll swear off buying more matte polish.  I remind myself that I have maybe nine different matte topcoats of varying matteness, so I can make any polish matte, and blahblahblah...  Then some brand or other will put out new matte shades, and my eyebrows go up.  I can't help it.  This time around, that collection came from one of 5 Below's store brands, Fresh Paint.  There are four soft, summery shades in their new Semi Matte collection.  Blue polish always lures me in, and Glass Slipper had to be mine.

Glass Slipper is sky blue with faint blue shimmer, and dries to a soft matte finish.

Sunday Shopper - 7/26 through 8/1

The summer doldrums aren't just a stock market thing.  They hit the drugstores too.  Not much new stuff comes out between June and late August.  Figures that's when I started this feature.  It's been over a month since the first installment, partly because of "real life" distractions and partly because I hadn't seen diddlysquat in weeks.  That's finally starting to change as we tiptoe toward back-to-school season.  There are also a couple of noteworthy sales this week, so we'll start with those...

The HOT Sales:

CVS - Spend $10 on Sally Hansen, get $5 ExtraBucks!! (limit 3, excludes clearance) Get up to $15 EB!
Rite Aid - 40% off all Wet n Wild (page 8)
Walgreens - Nothing amazing this week, but next week (8/2 to 8/8) the 99¢ Sinful Colors sale returns!

Target - Not a sale exactly, but whatever's left of the Sally Hansen summer collections is now on clearance, so check the usual spots in your local store.  I bought three of the Insta-Ombres and saw a few of the Pearl Crush and Beachside Astrologer shades in there too.

Sally Hansen Beachside Astrologer

 purchased by me

The best/worst part of summer is here!  The weather is brutal, but this is when all of the best summer shit happens.  The local fair, The Beard's birthday....watermelon.  Watermelon!  I'm mildly allergic to it and I still eat a ton every summer.  Worth it.  Summer's not exactly my season, but it has its good points.  This year, Sally Hansen's Beachside Astrologer collection goes on that list!

The Lost Swatches - Part 1

 purchased by me

Remember spring?  I don't!  I slept through a large portion of it, and was a hazy, sneezy mess the rest of the time.  A lot of swatching started, but very little got finished.  Do I finish swatching the rest of my picks from these collections and post with drastically different lengths?  Scrap them and re-swatch?  Life is still getting in my way, so re-swatching isn't gonna happen...and I'm already so late with these that I figured spam was the way to go.  Here's some of what I blearily did a few months ago, but never posted on PGS...

Sally Hansen Color Xpression - My Picks

 purchased by me

There have been a bunch of confusing Sally Hansen displays this year.  Usually they're really good about making LE stuff completely obvious...until recently.  Several collections have said "NEW SHADES" in big letters, but not "limited edition", yet these shades haven't turned up in core displays.  This leaves me wondering about this latest Xtreme Wear display, Color Xpression.  No sign of "limited edition" and the bottles have shade names and numbers on their caps, which LE's in this line usually don't, but we'll have to wait and see if they wind up in the core display or not.  I hope they do.  You can see why...

Sinful Colors Having A Blast

 purchased by me

Holy shit.  It's July.  When....?  How...?  This year is whizzing right past me!  It's half over already and we're coming up on the Fourth already.  Sinful Colors has a new festive topper out, along with some "greatest hits" repromotes, in a display called Having A Blast.

Colorful Chaos

So it is possible to go wrong with the OPI Color Paints after all.  Presenting the first Fail Nail of my Some Weird Sin days...

Ok, it's not awful, but it is confusing.  This was a full manicure, not just a four finger thing.  The entire time I wore it, I kept waffling on whether I liked it.  I showed Zeus.  All he said was "No."  I showed my buddy McGee and she called it "interesting".

How'd I do...whatever the fuck this is?  It's water spotting, done with distilled water and a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol.  I used Pen & Pink, Turquoise Aesthetic, and Purple Perspective over Silver Canvas.  I think the spray from this bottle is too fine because the spots aren't all that big.  I miiiight try it again, but probably just as an accent.

Emily Got Married!

When my cousin Emily invited me to her wedding, I was a little surprised.  I hadn't seen her since we were nine!  It was a good surprise though.  Her wedding was the perfect chance to see her and the rest of the family again.  I instantly started thinking about what my mani would be.  It dawned on me when I ran through a mental list of what I know about Emily and Alex.  She loves photography and he's an avid cyclist.  Cameras and bikes!

Meet My Clicky Sticks!

A few months ago I decided I wanted swatch sticks of all of my creams, crellies, and jellies.  Took me a while, but I'm so happy to have them!  Now any time I need to figure out what polish to wear with an outfit or use in nail art, I can just grab these.

...but why keep them to myself?  I'm listing them all on here, as a massive comparison.

Sinful Colors Bombay Nights

 purchased by me

You know how Sinful Colors used to do the same shades with different display names at Walgreens and Rite Aid?  This year they seem to be switching that around.  There are two different Bombay Nights displays, with slightly different selections in them.  Both have the new-ish Copper Pot, which was originally in the big corner display at Walgreens over the spring.  That thing never turned up around here, so I was really happy to finally get a bottle!  Walgreens also got a brand new shade called Maroon Fine.  (And the 99¢ sale is still on through tomorrow, 6/20.)  Rite Aid got Ice Blue, which isn't new, but doesn't turn up often.  Wegmans has the Rite Aid version too, plus some of these are on an endcap at Target.  There's a nice assortment of rich, warm shades and bold blues in all of these displays.  Hit the jump for a full list of the shades in both versions of the shelf display, swatches, reviews, and all of that.

Walgreens 99¢ Sinful Colors SPAAAM

Who'd have thought there'd be another one so soon?  Just a month after the last sale, Sinful Colors is 99¢ at Walgreens now through 6/20.  My sale spam posts didn't end with PGS...I just didn't expect to do one here so soon!  Luckily, I've got new swatches to add, and a couple of Street Fusion posts in the works.  I also found the BIG summer endcap.  Usually I don't find those until the week after the sale.  Extra happy about that!

Sunday Shopper - 6/14 through 6/20

No surprise here, but I spend a lot of time in drugstores.  I also go to plenty of them.  I'm lucky to live in a region that's very shoppy.  Stores around here get pretty much every collection, so I'm always taking photos of new displays.  They used to just wind up on my Instagram.  Since the new blog is all me and more focused on drugstore brands, I figured I might as well put them up here too.  While you're here, I'll also highlight any really good sales or offers I find.

Sunday Shopper will be weekly-ish, though there probably won't be one next week.  CVS, Rite Aid, and Walgreens are my obvious stops, but I'll also post occasional sightings from Wegmans (a Mid-Atlantic regional supermarket) and Target.  You won't see Wal-mart stuff here, because I don't shop there.  Expect these posts to feature mostly polish, like the rest of the blog.

The HOT Sales:

Walgreens - 99¢ Sinful Colors!! [last page] I'll post updated spam tomorrow, but here's a recent one.

CVS - Spend $10 on Sally Hansen get $5 ExtraBucks!! It's limit 3, so you can get up to $15 back when you spend $30. Wow!

The Newest Stuff:

Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Instant Attitude (LE)

Shade Names:
Tag, Ur It * Street Cred * Color Me Good * Vandal Eyes * Quick Brick * City Slicker

My Blogging Idols

 purchased by me

Call me excessively sentimental, but I've got one more 'origin story' post before the anniversary/closing/launching festivities draw to a close.  Like all of my previous posts along these lines, it involves magnetic polish.  What can I say?  It was spring 2012.  Anyone who's used them knows that magnetics are awesome, but frustrating.  Agitation lead me to google "magnetic polish application tips" or something like that...and that search changed my life.  I found Scrangie because of this post.  I was in total awe of everything about her blog and went looking for more.  The Polishaholic entranced me every bit as much.  Both had the best nail photos I'd ever seen.  Somewhere in reading dozens of their posts, I decided I wanted to try blogging too.  I've quietly(-ish) fangirled both of them over the years, but only just got around to wearing two of their polishes this week.

OPI Color Paints Water Marble

 purchased by me

Back in the oh so long ago PGS days I posted some layered stamping I did with the new OPI Color Paints, but this water marble was the first thing I'd done with them.  If you follow me on Instagram, you might have seen some crappy phone pics of this (including my tie-dyed finger) already...five weeks ago!  Yikes.  This is my first successful dipped water marble (after a mess and a 'cheat'), so it's not perfect.  I'm still thrilled with how it turned out!  I liked it so much that I did it as a full mani.
