Sally Hansen Beige Glass and Gold Glass

 purchased by me

The latest Sally Hansen Runway Collection is an even bigger temptation for me than usual.  I always get at least a couple, but this time...well...I've bought four so far and I know I'll be going back for more.  Instead of trying to gather everything up into one big post, I'll be doing two or three at a time.  I'm kicking things off with the two that caught my eye first.  They're...something.  Earthtone jellies are unusual, and now I know why.

Beige Glass is a beige jelly.

Everything about Beige Glass reminds me of "nude" stockings.  It's someone's skin color, but absolutely not mine.  It's ok on me, but would be so much better on someone darker...and with shorter nails.  It makes my free edge look dingy in some light.  This is three coats, with a really easy, smooth, non-streaky formula.

Gold Glass is a yellow jelly.

Melted.  Butter.  Right?  I feel like I'm too pale for this one too.  When I was swatching these, I thought of Nkem from Another Bottle Of Polish?!  She said they're right up her alley, so I'm really hoping she'll get them.  She's one of my nail crushes in general, but even more so for our shared love of ugly colors.  Getting back to Gold Glass, it's a bit garish on its own, but I've been wearing it with Sally Hansen's 18k Gold Hardener as a topper and I like it!  The formula's every bit as good as Beige Glass.  This is also three coats.

Bottom line:  These two are definitely not for everyone.  In the wrong light both look kinda dirty or sickly on me.  In other light they're more flattering.  Both have great formulas and I think there's tons of nail art potential.

Have you gotten these or any of the other "Subtle Sheers" from this collection?
