My Top Picks of 2015

How was your 2015?  Mine was basically a massive pile of shit.  I'm happy to see the end of it.  It sounds silly, but part of the shitiness was how little swatching I got to do.  This was probably my best collecting year since my first one...maybe even better than that one.  I bought and wore Clarins 230 this year.  Did you see it on here?  Nope.  Same for OPI DS Glamour.  Both were applied in a hurry and weren't camera-worthy by the time I had a quiet moment at home.  Beyond frustrating.  As far as new shades go, I bought plenty of them too, but had the same stumbling blocks.  This year's Top Picks post pulls from both blogs and is only about half the size of my previous two.  That's just the kind of year it's been.  Enough kvetching, let's look back at the bright spots...

China Glaze The Great Outdoors - My Picks

 purchased by me

Sorry to vanish again.  I was in a car accident last week.  I'm ok, but the car is probably kaput.  This was my third accident in eight years, and I didn't cause any of them.  I was stopped at a red light this time and wasn't even sure what had happened at first.

The way things are going lately, this might be my last post before xmas, so...here are some swatches from around Halloween!

The Lost Swatches - Part 3

 purchased by me

Unintentional blogging break!  Oops!  I haven't posted in three weeks!  Not dead just...not here.  What happened?  A bunch of things.  I had a cold and other health things that wiped me out for a little while.  My computer's still broken, so all of my photo editing and post formatting has to be done at work.  They're renovating our office, so it's been kinda disastery.  Then there was Thanksgiving and Black Friday weekend.  Add to all of that my ongoing little experiment in using gel base coat under conventional polish.  I've had a little trouble and one outright hilarious failure (you'll see), so the little time and energy that I've had for swatching went to learning how not to suck at using gel.  So yeah, three weeks and nothing to really show for it yet.  You know what that means.  It's time to dig into my backlog of unpublished swatches from over the spring/summer.
