Starting 2016 Fresh

 purchased by me

Happy New-ish Year!  I'm still getting back into the swing of things after the whole car accident thing, but I actually felt like blogging today.  Yay!  Speaking of yay...I have a new car!  Brand new!  Six years until it's really mine, but still.  Yay!  My car isn't the only thing that's new.  There's also this...

Sally Hansen Shelling Secrets

As much as I love having long nails, it hits a point where they're more hassle than they're worth.  Shaping becomes difficult, especially for my wonky right index.  They get in the way too.  Still too busy and/or tired to actually do my nails on New Years Eve, I put two coats of Pahlish Fields Of Gold over my previous mani.  My gel was lifting a bit, my nails were losing their looked bad.  I didn't take a single photo.  Shortening my nails had been a temptation for weeks, but that was the clincher.  I was originally just going to reshape and redo my gel, but all of a sudden I grabbed my tiny scissors and clipped a few millimeters off.  The shock of such a drastic change was almost completely overridden by how much I love this length.

I bought Shelling Secrets in the latest CVS beauty clearance, so it was right there at my desk.  Buying it and wearing it were both complete whims...but I'm so glad I did.  This is three coats and I didn't have any issues with streaking at all.  It looks a bit pink in the bottle, but the sheerness makes it a barely there "MNBB" kind of thing.  It's fresh and clean and exactly what I've needed.  I highly recommend it.

So new year, new car, "new" nails...I'm feeling pretty good about all of it.  Yay again!  Hope your new year is off to a good start too.  I probably won't post again until next week, because I still don't have a working computer.  See you next week, I guess.  I have SO MUCH I want to swatch and I'm so ready to get back to it!
