LIT NYC Sassy

 purchased by me

Today's post is brought to you by confusion.  Where'd this LIT NYC brand come from?  Does CVS actually carry it?  Why does the cap have a light in it?  No clue.  Around xmas the best CVS in my area randomly just had a bunch of these in a wicker basket.  They've moved them around a few times and they don't seem to be selling.  There was a shelf display (in this post) at one point too.  The $7.50 price tag was keeping me away, but eventually I had a bunch of coupons and the need to buy something, so it happened.  Sassy is one of two shades I took pity on.

Sassy is a bronzey gold foil with a pink shift and a touch of holo microglitter.

I've gotta say, I'm pleasantly surprised.  The formula is good and the shade itself is eye-catching and distinctive.  It reminds me of the shifty, foily, flecked polishes that OPI does so well.  It took three coats for full coverage, but that's pretty standard for this finish.

It's got a lot going for it...good finish, glitzy, a bit of a shift, holo twinkles, that darker-at-the-edges thing...

I mattified it, even though I knew it would kill the holo specks.

I think I like it even more this way!  The complexity of the flecks comes out more this way, and the edges look even darker.

Bottom line: If Sassy is anything to go on, it's a shame that CVS has a permanent display for those wretched Pop-arazzi polishes and not for LIT NYC.

I bought Power too, a blue-to-purple duochrome foil.  It'll be on the blog eventually.  Does your CVS have these?  Have you tried any?  Are you as confused as I am?  Why does the cap have that tiny light?
